ROKH Dance celebrates a combined history of 50 years of dance enjoyment!
Formerly The Kathryn Hurley Dance Academy and The Ruth Osborne School of Dancing, ROKH Dance represents our long established and successful history combined with our fresh teaching practices and vision. We are completely committed to providing the best dance classes for our students and also to continue to seek further exciting opportunities which will develop them as dancers and creatives within the theatre industry.
ROKH Dance offers high quality dance lessons in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Street, Contemporary and Drama. The School has three branches based in Iron Acton, Frampton Cotterell and Wotton Under Edge.
In 2016, we were delighted to be Finalists in the prestigious Dance School of the Year.
In December 2020, we were ecstatic to win Dance Company of the Year 20/21 by Prestige Awards for the South West.
In May 2022, we performed at Disneyland Paris, following a successful audition.
In April 2025, ROKH Dance will be performing on board MSC Fantasia on a cruise around the mediterranean.
Captivating dance classes following the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) Syllabi lead to graded examinations for children aged 5 years and upwards. The ISTD is leading Society within dance training and is regularly monitored and audited by the Qualification and Curriculum Authority (QCA) to ensure that their standards are maintained.
Examinations are not compulsory but offer a measure of progress and reward the children for their hard work and dedication and commitment.
The bi-annual Academy show delights all pupils giving them the exhilarating opportunity to perform in costume, on stage in a professional theatre, whilst building confidence.
The annual summer school brings West End performers to Iron Acton to share their talents and inspire the students.
ROKH Dance also perform at various community events throughout the year, with an annual highlight being 'Proms in the Meadows'.
We are proud to support various charities in our fundraising events. This year we are supporting Crohn's and Colitis UK. Events include our Choreography Competition, Christmas Card Competition, Name the Mice, Festival of Dance and Raffle.
